Although pay discrimination has been prohibited until now, Slovakia has long shown one of the highest gender pay gaps in the EU, mainly due to a lack of transparency. The new legislation changes this and puts concrete tools at your disposal to verify whether your work is fairly compensated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The end of the pay secrecy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most significant changes is the complete ban on salary secrecy. An employer can no longer prevent you from sharing information about your own remuneration with others. Any clauses in employment contracts that would oblige you to remain silent about your salary will become invalid from June 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The right to know how much colleagues earn<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As an employee, you now have the right to request, in writing, information on the average remuneration of colleagues performing the same work or work of equal value. Your employer must provide you with this data broken down by gender. This data will first be available for the calendar year 2027. Your employer is obliged to respond to your request within two months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">It's not just about wages, but about the overall \u201ereward\u201c.\u201c<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The law replaces the narrow term \u201ewage\u201c with a broader term <strong>\u201ereward\u201c<\/strong>. The right to equal remuneration applies to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Z\u00e1kladn\u00fa mzdu<\/strong> alebo tarifn\u00fd plat.<\/li><li>V\u0161etky <strong>doplnkov\u00e9 a variabiln\u00e9 zlo\u017eky<\/strong> (bonusy, pr\u00e9mie, osobn\u00e9 pr\u00edplatky).<\/li><li> <strong>Vecn\u00e9 plnenia a benefity<\/strong>, ako s\u00fa pr\u00edspevky na b\u00fdvanie, stravu, firemn\u00e9 auto na s\u00fakromn\u00e9 \u00fa\u010dely \u010di sick days. <\/li><li><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Clear rules instead of sympathy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">V\u00e1\u0161 plat u\u017e nesmie by\u0165 v\u00fdsledkom \u201edohody od oka\u201c alebo sympati\u00ed \u0161\u00e9fa. Zamestn\u00e1vate\u013e mus\u00ed zavies\u0165 <strong>transparentn\u00e9 \u0161trukt\u00fary odme\u0148ovania<\/strong> zalo\u017een\u00e9 na objekt\u00edvnych faktoroch: <strong>zlo\u017eitos\u0165, zodpovednos\u0165, nam\u00e1havos\u0165 a pracovn\u00e9 podmienky<\/strong>. Po novom sa mus\u00ed povinne prihliada\u0165 aj na va\u0161e <strong>m\u00e4kk\u00e9 zru\u010dnosti<\/strong>, teda soci\u00e1lne a komunika\u010dn\u00e9 schopnosti. T\u00e1 zah\u0155\u0148a sp\u00e4tn\u00e9 doplatenie rozdielu v odmene, n\u00e1hradu za straten\u00e9 pr\u00edle\u017eitosti, \u00faroky z ome\u0161kania aj n\u00e1hradu nemajetkovej ujmy v peniazoch.
